An exploration of queer identity and environment through video and sound. (This is the sound bit).

Drawing on home movies and field recordings, the two immersive works are emblematic of past actions and rituals, both personal and social, mediated and contemporised through hindsight and digital intervention.

First exhibited at The Old Lock Up in April 2022. The Old Lock Up is a watch-house/prison on Kabi Kabi country (Sunshine Coast) north of Meanjin (Brisbane), Australia. It is run as an interdisciplinary arts space by IN Artist Run Initiative. "It's both the heat and the humidity" activated each of the 2 cells with projection and sound, with a sculptural work made of video tape ("Say it like a man") installed in the vestibule.

The source recordings embodied in this release were captured between 1991 and 2022 in the region of its first exhibition. In addition to a performance and artist talk, a playlist of the unedited field recordings was available online as an extension of the exhibition.
