Soundtrack from the Virtual Reality experience "A Thin Black Line" by VRTOV and DoubleWire Productions.
Much like the way the film exploits a modern, immersive medium as a vehicle for a traditional narrative, the score delicately weaves acoustic instrumentation – felt piano, violin, mandolin, bowed acoustic guitar and kalimba – with digital manipulations. The resulting soundtrack champions textures found in the fringes of performance and between the notes, while delivering melodies that reflect the heart of the story they accompany.
The soundtrack album presents compositions from the film, recut and reworked, as premiered at the Adelaide Biennial of Art in early 2018.
